Signs your website needs a redesign

A redesign is often the fastest way to improve first impressions and conversions.

  1. 01The site looks outdated on mobile
  2. 02Visitors leave without calling or submitting a form
  3. 03Your services are hard to understand quickly
  4. 04The site loads slowly or feels cluttered
  5. 05You are embarrassed to share your website link

Keep what works, improve what does not

A modern redesign improves how customers perceive your business and how easily they can take action.

  1. 01Identify useful pages and content before removing or rewriting them
  2. 02Make each service and its next step easier to understand
  3. 03Improve phone layouts, navigation and contact-form usability
  4. 04Review existing URLs before proposing a new site structure
  5. 05Check important links and customer journeys before launch

Protect existing search visibility

A redesign is not a reason to replace every URL. Start by identifying pages that attract relevant searches, links or inquiries. Keep useful URLs where possible and retain the information people rely on. Search Console data is helpful for this review when the business can provide access or an export.

If a URL must change, plan a permanent redirect to the closest relevant replacement, update internal links and check the canonical URL and sitemap. Redirecting every removed page to the homepage is not a substitute for a page-by-page decision.

Before launch, check the old and new page map, forms, mobile layouts and indexing settings. After launch, compare indexing and search performance against the baseline. A redesign can cause ranking fluctuations; retaining URLs and testing the migration reduces avoidable mistakes but does not guarantee that rankings will stay unchanged.
